World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.
Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using standard methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much they'll improve after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.
In the final game you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Using Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items lets players increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is known as "upping". item upgrading has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When the player upgrades the equipment they have the original item will be replaced with a new item. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades . The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea, but should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go to its original state, which will force the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned like the chance to crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items may require different upgrades than normal equipment. For example, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to bring every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
